Mushy Peas Recipe
Now we’re back in hot and sweaty NYC for a week. My husband and I decided to re-create our first night in Scotland experience and we both agreed that we would make our own Fish and Chips with mushy peas. At Ben Athrur’s Bothy I tried the mushy peas for the first time and was instantly in love. While the taste is not a big difference from actual peas, I thought that this amazing side dish is heavenly creamy and rich and serves as a perfect dip to a fish and chips and a french fry. Green peas is the world’s healthiest food and will be a fantastic addition to spread on top of cloud bread.

1 package of frozen green peas ( I got organic frozen peas from Trader Joes)
1/4 cup Heavy cream or Half & Half (Note: You can add more liquid (water or cream) depending how mushy you want your peas.
1 Tablespoon butter
1/2 teaspoon Salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Bring a shallow pot of lightly salted water to a boil over medium-high heat. Add frozen peas, and cook for 3 minutes, or until tender.
Drain peas, and transfer to a blender or large food processor. Add cream, butter, salt and pepper to peas, and process until blended, but still thick with small pieces of peas. Adjust seasonings to taste, serve immediately and enjoy!
