It has taken me about a week to get used to the windows 8.1 operating system on my new Dell Inspiron 13, and it is truly worth the effort. My tablet/laptop is quickly taking over as my number one electronic device to use for work and play in and around the house. Just yesterday I was doing my best to organize my holiday shopping chores. I took the Inspiron downstairs to my storage room and used it to take notes about what gifts I purchased already and what gifts I still need to get. Flipping the tablet over into triangle mode I was able to stand it up on a table while I viewed my holiday shopping list. It was very convenient to not have to hold it like a tablet. This kept my hands free to allow me to go through some of the toys and clothes I purchased already. Even though I’m still integrating the Inspiron 13 into my everyday routine I can see so many uses for it.
One problem came up this morning after I got back from the gym. I looked at my workspace and my Inspiron 13 was missing. After a bit of panic, I realized that the front door was locked, and my tablet had to be somewhere in the house. I soon heard someone talking from my son’s bedroom, which was strange since he was at school. I walked over to the bedroom door and slowly opened it. My husband was bent over and contorted in some type of yoga pose. On the floor next to his right leg was my tablet/laptop with a yoga instructional video playing on the screen. My husband was using my yoga laptop to help him do actual yoga. When he noticed me standing there after a minute or so he said, “This thing is great, you could stand it up anywhere.” He went on to share how easy it was to scroll through the videos with the touch screen and how he could place the tablet on the floor or on the table for the optimal viewing angle.
I really liked my hubby’s idea. Sometimes I want to go away from the TV room and be alone so I can do a bit of my own yoga and stretching and my 2in1 lets me take my tablet to the basement where I can do my exercises in peace.
And even a bit of cardio kickboxing. Yes, I agree, the speaker is not that great on my 2 in 1, that’s why I hook up my Intel with my Nyne Cruiser Wireless Speaker via Blootooth for an optimal sound and loud workout perfect for my kickboxing class.
This Dell Inspiron 13 is a perfect gift for the whole family or any family member. That’s why it’s a part of my Holiday Gift Guide 2014
