Has this ever happened to you? You’re out and about doing your thing and you look down at your phone and the battery bar is on yellow. Or worse it is on red and you don’t have your charger with you. Maybe you have your charger with you but you’re not in a location with outlets available. This has happened to me too many times. I immediately go into conservation mode, shutting down my 4G, lowering the screen brightness to the bare minimum, shutting off email and anything else running on my phone. I then pray that my battery will last until I get home or to a location where I can charge up.
This doesn’t have to happen to you or me any longer. In the past couple of years several companies have come up with portable mobile chargers that can re-charge your battery on the go. One such device that I recently tested was the Bolt made by a company called FLUXMOB. FLUXMOB claims that this is the world’s smallest portable battery backup and wall charger. So not only can you charge your smart devices with it in an emergency but you can also charge your devices while it is plugged into the wall.
So you no longer need to bring your charger around with you when you travel.
The FLUXMOB Bolt is small, lightweight and has a powerful Samsung 3000mah battery inside (specifications). At $59.99 retail it is about double the price of an extra battery but then again an extra battery cannot charge itself. If you’re an iphone user you cannot buy an extra battery anyway so this device is great for you. According to FLUXMOB the Bolt should be able to re-charge your iPhone up to two times.
I happened to test my FLUXMOB Bolt on my Samsung Galaxy S4. The following are the results that I found after a 3-day test. Here are my recordings:
7.20 pm started charge at 16%
10.10 bolt died at giving 92% charge to the phone.
Test 2. Bolt fully charged (phone was in light use)
2.30 pm started charge at 14%
5:15 bolt died at giving 75% charge to the phone.
8.05 bolt died at giving 55% charge to my phone.
