Sneak Peak: Preview of New York Auto Show

04/18/14 | New York, PR-Media Events

Last night I got to experience for the first time the New York City International Auto Show at the Jacob Javits Center. For many years I have wanted to attend the car show but I never got to go there. This year we were invited to go to a preview all the car show 2 days before the general public would be admitted. I have to say from the moment I walked through the doors of the Javits Center until I finished 4 hours later I was in awe. Every car dealer or car manufacturer that I knew of was represented by the car show. We started out at the Toyota exhibit which seem to be one of the largest at the show. They were also one of the few car companies they had several prototypes on display. One particular car that was red was called the Toyota FT-1 and it was amazing to look at. They also had a three wheeled miniature electric car that held two passengers. Additionally they had a futuristic egg-shaped hogtie vehicle that had no steering wheel .

After checking out the Toyotas I walked over to the Maserati which had some beautiful cars on display. After that I walked over to the horse show Avillion which is happens to be one of my favorite cars. They were serving orderves and other beverages . They seemed to really go all out with their presentation. I sat in several of the Porsche models and soon realize that they’re not really made for tall people. Well at least getting in and out of them was difficult for me but once I was situated the car was amazingly comfortable. After visiting with Porsche I passed by the Bentley display but unfortunately they were only allowing certain people in. Oh well. Are then moved on to some other exotic cars like a bright orange Lamborghini and a beautiful black and carbon fiber Bugatti . There was also another car I believe it was called a call this big . After looking at these cars and admiring there streamlined bodies and amazingly powerful engines I moved on to the area of the show where they held BMW and Mercedes and Lexus vehicles. You would think between these three companies who have put forth some beautiful luxury cars is there would be some concept vehicles or something to blow your mind. This was not the case however the vehicle that I saw were pretty much the same vehicles that you could see in any of their dealerships. After walking around I noticed there was a Cadillac Pavilion and they did have one car which seems to be a concept car it was a two door coupe and it was very streamlined and nothing like I have seen from Cadillac before.

Moving on I walked into the Ford Chrysler Mazda mini and Fiat areas. They do have some interesting race cars available zombie that were in need the car race but other than that I was not too impressed with any of the design. What I was really looking for was the Chevrolet display. One of my favorite cars growing up was the Chevy Camaro. I was hoping to catch a glimpse of the new Camaro or any other future cars that Chevy was putting out. After struggling to locate the Chevy area I ran into a security officer . When I eventually got to this Chevy display I was little disappointed but they were in the middle of nowhere at the end of the car show Pavilion. I was happy to see that they did have some old Camaros on display as well as some newer vehicles which made me pretty happy. After checking out the Chevy area I noticed that there was another level of the car show. On the lower level they had all of the trucks and SUVs on display from the major car manufacturers. It was already getting late and I did not have enough time to really check out this area. That is my only regret during my time at the New York City International Auto Show. Overall I had an excellent experience at the car show and would highly recommend this experience to you to go enjoy cars and trucks and SUVs. This is a great experience for all of the family to enjoy. I truly hope I am invited back next year so I can experience more of this fantastic shovel.

As part of the Auto Show I was invited to a Girls Night Out event hosted by She Buys Cars and sponsored by Toyota and Dr. Oz Magazine. I had a good chat with Dr. Oz’z Editor in Chef Allison Brower about their new magazine called “Dr. Oz The Good Life” packed with healthy recipes, advice and healthy tips. I met Lizza from xoxolizza.com. She was giving away Cover Girl lipsticks to anyone who would snap a “Selfie” photo with her. If you are going to the show connect with Lizza in real life. Find her and take a picture together with Lizza. At the end of our Girls night out hang, Scotty from She Buys Cars was giving away prizes, such as Kate Spade NY Hand bags. I think there were 3 or 5 prizes total and perhaps 50 participants. Sooooooo after the 1st prize was given away she took this beautiful pink handbag on display and was picking the name from the long list. She said my name! OMG! I won! I have never won anything before and this time for the first time I won BIG! This gorgeous Kate Spade NY Pink Handbag tote. It was unbelievable! Thank you so much again Scotty for picking my name as a LUCKY Winner! I had a great time at the event and left happy!
