With the holiday shopping season in full swing I have been busy shopping online for the best deals. Black Friday is past as well as Cyber Monday, so now I have to scour the web and the sales circulars to find the latest sales and deals. One thing that frustrates me about dealing with the sales circulars is having to spend the time sifting through them looking for the items that are on sale. The flyers that come to my house are usually wrapped up in a plastic bag and hung from my mailbox or front gate. Not only is it annoying going through them to find deals, its also a waste of paper. I always wondered why stores just don’t send flyers to their shoppers electronically.
Well I guess with all of my wondering someone must have been listening. A company based out of Toronto called Wishabi developed an app called Flipp.
Flipp digitally aggregates circulars from your favorite local stores right onto your smart phone or other smart device.
I gave Flipp a try. The app asks you to enter in your zip code so it can pull up circulars from local stores. The circulars are then displayed right onto your phone organized by store. Once you see a store that your interested in you simply tap on it and it enlarges. You can then flip through the pages of the circular like you normally would do. What separates Flipp from your every day circular is the fact that you can highlight and save products that you are interested in purchasing.
This function is so easy to use. All you do it tap the product of interest in the circular and small yellow circle appears around it.
It is saved to a section called ‘clippings’. It is like you took a scissor and cut out the coupon or advertisement for toilet tissue and its saved into the app. Another awesome feature allows you to press on the circled item and it brings you to more detailed information. For example you may be interested in learning more about the iPad Mini that is on sale at Radio Shack. You simply press and hold your finger on the item in the circular and a new window will open giving more detailed information about the iPad Mini. This is a great feature that allows the consumer to learn the most about the products they are interested in purchasing.
Features of the app include:
- Search – You can search for a store, item, or brand.
- Clippings – Clip items from any flyer to your shopping list.
- Discount slider – You can highlight ites on sale to find the best deals.
- Favorites – Save flyers from your favorite stores for easy reference.
Overall this new app called Flipp is going to make most peoples lives much easier when it comes to shopping. Just think about all the time you waste searching through sales circulars only to forget them at home when you get to the store. Flipp puts an end to all of this nonsense. Now you can peruse the circulars from your favorite stores on the fly. Clip out the products you need to get and save them for when you’re in the store. Flipp is also a great way to comparison shop for the best deals. Think about it, how many times have purchased an item only to find out later it was on sale at another store. Now you can bring the circular with you on your smart phone and never miss a deal again.
What stores do you mostly shop during the holiday season? Do you want to give a Flipp app a try?
