Okay so I just got back from shopping at Kohl’s again. I know, I know, it seems like all I do is talk about shopping at Kohl’s. What can I say they are hard not to like. This past shopping trip I was looking for a comfortable and versatile pair of shoes. Not dress shoes or heels but something that I could wear everyday while walking, shopping, taking my kids to school or just about anything. I wasn’t looking for sneakers but a good pair of shoes that were comfortable and fashionable on my feet.
In the shoes department of Kohl’s I found a display by Reebok that was showcasing their new brand of shoes called Reebok Skyscapes. Their slogan on the display was “Escape with Skyscape”. Well with a slogan like that I had to check them out. The first thing I noticed was that the Skyscape shoes was light. Which usually means not made well. After further inspection I could see that was not the case. The tongue on the shoe was padded, as well as the sides of the shoes and the bottoms had these pillow shaped rubber soles. Inside the box they came with two colored laces so you could change up your look. And the tag and outside of the box said they were machine washable (in 30 degree Celsius cool water). That is a real bonus especially since my shoes tend to get a bit dirty. I tried a pair on and walked around the shoe department for a bit. They were really comfortable and I liked the padding on the tongue. Most shoes don’t have much padding on their tongues and sneakers sometimes have too much padding. As Goldilocks would say they were just right. At first I could not decide what color to get: Pink or Black? I put one of each color on and walked around for a bit thinking I’m going to get the Pink shoes for the spring and summer. Then I started asking the shoppers – Which color do you like better? 3 shoppers that I asked all said black. Black and white goes pretty much with anything and will be easy to wipe off if it gets a little dirty.
Which color do you like better on me?
So I decided to get black. I really liked the “black and white look” as well as the Reebok logo really stand out on the back of the shoe. The shoes were on sale for $58.99 but I also had my 20% shopping pass with me so I end up paying $47 plus I scored the $10 Kohl’s cash!
Ok now to the test. This past Sunday I took my family out to Tribeca in Downtown Manhattan for a Tribeca Film Festival kids activities event. There was a lot of walking involved. Let me tell you my feet felt very comfortable the entire day I walked on the streets of Tribeca. I had a feeling I’m walking in my comfy slippers. My legs and feet did not feel stiff and sore at the end of the day.
The Reebok Skyscape seem very durable. It’s an everyday shoe for active and casual wear. I look forward to walking around town in my new Skyscapes for months to come.
