I am not normally someone who likes to bake things from a box, I love to bake so I like to do it from scratch, but this Krusteaz Molten Deep Dish Chocolate Cookie with Caramel Center is worth the extra trip to the store. Just reading the name of this cookie makes my mouth water.
Besides being delicious this cookie is also very easy to make and can be made in less than an hour. It took me about 5-10 minutes to prep the cookies to go into the oven and then they baked for about 18 minutes so I only had to wait approximately 25 minutes to feed my chocolate craving.
This is actually my second time that I have made these particular cookies and from what I can remember I did not like the cookies the first time, I had put too much caramel in them, but after baking them a second time and putting less caramel in I loved them! So this recipe can be adjusted for different preferences for those who LOVE caramel and those who only like it a little bit, you could probably try baking them without caramel if you are not a caramel fan at all.
-Krusteaz Molten Deep Dish Chocolate Cookie with caramel center mix, This will include the mix and the caramel filling
-1 stick of butter (softened)
Once you have the cookie mix you should be set since the only other two things you need are things that should already be in your fridge.
1.Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
2.Wipe down a muffin tin with a paper towel and some vegetable oil making sure to cover everywhere that the cookies will touch.
3.Mix together the egg, butter and cookie mix. It will end up looking like a big sticky mess and it is a big sticky mess!
4.Divide the dough in half. Divide that half into twelve equal balls and put them in the muffin tins and flatten down.
5.Cut one of the corners off of the caramel packet.
6.Squeeze about 1 ½ tsp into every flattened dough ball, more if you really like caramel and less if you aren’t such a big fan of caramel.
7.Take the second half of the dough and divide it into twelve equal balls. Flatten the balls out a little bit and place on top of the caramel and press down around trapping the caramel between the dough.
8.Bake for 18-20 minutes.
9.Cool cookies for 5 minutes and remove by carefully sliding a knife around the edges of the cookies.
Look at how gooey those centers are and one of those pictures, the last one, isn’t even from right after I made them it is from a day later and the caramel is still gooey. I really did like these cookies and my favorite part is that they taste like caramel filled brownies! Along with these Chocolate Cookie with Caramel Center cookies you can also get classic cookie with chocolate center or sugar cookie with a chocolate center from Krusteaz.
